Quality Technician Crew A 6AM to 6PM

About the Role

This position supports the company's objectives for product quality through control of incoming materials, first article inspections, spot product audits, final inspection/certificates of conformance, and reporting of production monitoring data. Additionally, the role supports maintaining ISO 9001 certification through timely quality audits according to the ISO 9001 audit schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct incoming material and sub-contracted processes output inspection to set material specifications and record results in the Visual Quality module.
  • Perform first article inspections for each customer order, collaborating with production employees and shift supervisors to ensure optimal product quality. Immediately report any out-of-specification conditions to the operator, shift supervisors, and Quality Manager. Complete all necessary first article paperwork.
  • Conduct spot product audits in collaboration with shift supervisors and operators to monitor product quality. Immediately report any out-of-specification conditions and complete internal non-conformity documentation.
  • Perform quality audits according to the ISO 9001 audit schedule and complete internal non-conformity documentation for any findings.
  • Prepare reporting for Critical to Quality (CTQ) attributes for each product group.
  • Prepare Certificates of Conformance for outgoing product as required.
  • Collaborate with shift supervisors and production leads on decisions involving product quality, quality holds, or quality stoppages.
  • Conduct material or product testing as directed by R&D, shift supervisors, or the Quality Manager. Summarize and deliver test results to the requesting party.
  • Support companywide Safety and Cleanliness programs.
  • Perform other job functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years (or more) of relevant experience.
  • High School education required; Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, science, or mathematics is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to use, understand, or interpret measurement devices.
  • Task-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, professional demeanor, and self-motivated.
  • High level of computer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Outlook.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
  • Able to sustain office work for 8+ hours per day, including:
    • Sitting in an office chair.
    • Typing.
    • Reaching for the telephone.
    • Standing at office equipment.
    • Hearing for phone use.
    • Sight for computer use.
  • Able to sustain factory work for 8+ hours, including:
    • Standing at machinery.
    • Repetitive measuring.
    • Reaching and pulling.
    • Sight for measurement device reading.
    • Walking through the shop.
  • Shop noise levels may require protective ear-coverings.
