Quality Technician

Quality AssuranceFull-time

Identify and implement systematic solutions to quality issues and enforce the highest standards of quality management. Own the continual development and adherence to the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001:2015 and take a lead role in problem-solving with internal and external processes.

Responsibilities

  • With guidance, use deep analytical thinking and available resources to identify and solve quality problems (fit/finish, appearance, functional) for a specific assigned production or manufacturing area (manufacturing, assembly, etc).
  • With guidance, ensure the quality of completed assembly, manufactured parts, and/or supplied parts.
  • Monitor quality key performance indicators and promote improvement in the assigned area.
  • Lead and coordinate problem-solving focusing on short- and long-term sustainable solutions.
  • Interface with team members from other departments and external organizations as necessary.
  • Manage change points with suppliers, manufacturing, and design within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Develop and improve quality standard work as necessary.
  • Develop and assure compliance of quality system improvements.
  • A Level I Quality Tech is fully trained and self-sufficient in one area of quality inspection (assembly, manufacturing, shipping/receiving).
  • Follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field, or 2+ years of equivalent professional experience in Quality Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in one or more manufacturing/assembly areas (metal forming, paint, assembly, etc).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Project Management, including creating schedules and tracking milestones for both short-term (week/month) and long-term (12-24 month+) projects.
  • Experience in Quality Engineering/Quality Control managing completed assembly and supplied parts.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Toyota Quality Systems, including QIMS, SQAM.
  • Experience utilizing data and investigative tools to analyze and prioritize causes to implement countermeasures.
  • Experience working with outside suppliers and vendors, including bid specification, project management, buyoff, and implementation.
  • Experience with Supplier Quality/Process Improvement.
  • ISO 9001:2015 experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long-term without sponsorship.
