Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Collaborate across functions and sites, leveraging quality and manufacturing expertise to troubleshoot problems, interpret data and determine next steps with a risk-based approach.
- Willingness to take direction from area supervision and follow that direction.
- Be capable of reading drawings, understanding dimensional callouts, and other technical documentation.
- Comprehend current production quality standards and determine if ongoing production meets those standards.
- Evaluate parts/components/weldments at the start, middle and end of production runs.
- Guide production teams to properly disposition parts as good for use, needs repair, or scrap.
- Document and communicate any identified defects.
- Escalate concerns that are not being properly resolved in your area.
- Communicate emerging and trending quality issues to prevent negative impact to the factory floor.
- Visually detect defects in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically feel defects in materials.
- Identify and differentiate between several defect types.
- Determine severity of a defect and the required response.
- Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting of quality issues that will be referenced by specialists, engineers, and management.
- Determine potential countermeasure solutions against failed inspections.
- Construct and maintain strong relationships with members of all nearby teams.
- Be personable and effective in verbal and written communication.
- Apply critical thinking skillset to engage and troubleshoot new quality issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
