Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enters data into computer for analysis.
  • Selects products for testing at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Must have knowledge of proper use of standard measurement tools and metric system (micrometers, calipers, etc).
  • Must be able to operate force tester and hardness tester.
  • Performs part layouts reports according to internal and drawing specifications.
  • Performs in-process audits.
  • Works with operators on print interpretations and use of gauging.
  • Affords assistance in training of operators to specific processing work instructions or gauging.
  • Ability to thrive in multiple fast-paced, high stress manufacturing environments.
  • Interprets engineering drawings and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

Qualifications

  • 2- year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience or Training in IATF16949:2016, Basic Plant Safety, quality standards is preferred.
  • Must have visual inspection experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software, and MS Office platforms (excel, word, outlook, etc).

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing and /or engineering and sales driven business.
