Quality Technician

Location: Bridgeton, NJ • Type: Contract • Compensation: $24 - $27 hourly

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate products, raw materials, and intermediates for conformance to specifications and comply with all Quality Assurance standards.
  • Perform daily evaluation and approval of finished products, raw materials, and intermediates, including FPY/OAC and extended performance testing (7 days).
  • Perform production line first-piece inspection and production floor spot checks as needed.
  • Work as a team member to ensure timely reporting of results so quality products can ship and defective products are contained.
  • Report and record all results in a timely manner; maintain a detailed database of testing results and generate statistical analyses using a computer and SAP.
  • Communicate effectively, share information, and provide constructive feedback in a respectful, professional manner.
  • Note and escalate inspection-plan updates (e.g., control-limit shifts or additional testing) to R&D/Operations.
  • Perform all tests accurately and responsibly; sign conforming reports and alert Plant Management and Production Management of non-conformances.
  • Propose ideas and plans for improvement and identify deficiencies in laboratory specifications and procedures.
  • Maintain and be responsible for the working inventory of all lab supplies and chemicals.
  • Accurately calibrate, control, and maintain lab instruments.
  • Analyze test results in Excel and input/update SAP quality information.
  • Stay current with new automation, technology, mechanical equipment, and computer software programs.
  • Provide timely results for non-routine samples (e.g., customer complaints).
  • Perform other projects or assignments as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and perform minor maintenance of equipment, workstation, and lab area.
  • Monitor the accuracy and completeness of all process instructions and in-process quality checks to ensure compliance with S.O.P.

Requirements

  • 3+ years hands-on experience in a laboratory environment or 3+ years QA/QC experience.
  • ASTM/ISO experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage tasks and responsibilities to complete priorities in a timely manner.
  • Strong customer and quality focus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Schedule

8 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
