Quality Technician
About the role
Your Job Georgia-Pacific is looking for safety-oriented individuals to join our team as a Quality Technician in our climate-controlled facility in Tolleson, AZ!
Responsibilities
- Verifying that all materials are in SPEC for on all jobs based on the envelope format being produced and as instructed by the quality supervisor
- Performing and maintaining department quality as required by standard operating procedures
- Staying up to date on procedures related to quality inspections, specification limits and sampling frequency
- Monitoring packaging for defects outside of established specification limits, correcting and reporting any non-conformance issues to the lead operator
- Printing labels when needed when placing materials on hold
- Checking incoming raw materials prior to being ran in production as well as when concerns about run ability are raised
- Absisting with hand packing when Automation is down
- Maintaining an open dialogue with supervision and other employees to minimize delays
- Updating upcoming shift so information is passed on accurately
- Maintaining a clean working environment
- Monitoring all jobs for manufacturing defects and reporting any non-conformance issues
- Complying and seeing that facility employees comply with ALL standard operational procedures relating to quality
- Verifying processes by performing internal audits
- Performing other duties and / or projects as assigned
- Acting as the on shift go to person for quality related items
- Participating in continuous improvement activities
- Completing all required training within specified time frame
- Using Teams and other computer based programs to communicate with other members of the quality group
- Working overtime as necessary to cover absences or PTO
Requirements
- Experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, warehouse OR military environment
- Completion of post high school education in manufacturing/industrial
- Basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office, Teams, and production or quality data systems
- Experience performing quality checks according to standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- 1+ years experience operating production machinery
- Experience working in a converting operation
- Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and standards like ISO 9001
Skills
- Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment
- Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to/more than twelve (12) hours a day, in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment

Pay
$24.25 per hour
Schedule
This facility works a 5-2-2-5 schedule. These are 12 hour shifts working 645am-7pm and 645pm-7am, you will work both shifts on the rotating schedule. Every 2 weeks you will rotate between working days and nights. Only candidates who are able to work this schedule will be considered. Tolleson operates on a point-based attendance program.
