About the role

This Quality Technician role is based in Buffalo Grove, IL and reports to the Quality Supervisor. Schedule: 6am–2:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dosimetry measurements and daily dose lab activities (releasing, pairing, delivery of dose trays, report generation, cleaning).
  • Conduct microbiological testing including bioburden, endotoxin, and media assessments.
  • Perform environmental monitoring using viable air samplers and other advanced lab equipment.
  • Assist with Corrective Action investigations as required.
  • Address environmental excursions that occur in controlled environments.
  • Identify, escalate, and investigate alert/Out-of-Specification (OOS) results related to dosimetry, microbial testing, and environmental monitoring.
  • Create and maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and documentation, following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Use strong organizational and time management skills to move between tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Apply basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is a plus.
  • Perform arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Read and comprehend moderately complex procedures and work instructions.
  • Think critically, troubleshoot problems, and interpret test data independently.
  • Work under minimal supervision once fully trained.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of GLP, GMP, USP, ISO, and other regulatory standards is a plus.
  • Good handwriting required.
