About the Role
This position requires a strong understanding of quality assurance methods, tools, and manufacturing processes. You will work in a team environment to ensure smooth operations and support day-to-day quality and production deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Provide input for new gage/fixture designs relative to GD&T and CMM measurement accessibility.
- Operate CMM machines (Manual and DCC) using CMM Manager software.
- Perform quality inspection checks including first piece, hourly, final, last piece, and backward recall on non-conforming product; implement non-conforming product hold tags.
- Conduct gauge calibration and Gage R&R studies.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain continuity among work shifts.
- Support continuous improvement efforts (5S, internal audits, organizational knowledge) in Buildings 1 and 2.
- Document testing and root cause analysis for internal or external problems.
- Create work instructions and provide feedback on manufacturing issues to Quality Management/Manufacturing Engineering (QM/ME).
- Ensure parts meet customer and company quality standards.
- Work pieces on CMM machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Accept ownership for new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
- Experience with CMM software and ability to mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, and fixtures.
- Experience working with various types of materials and understanding their reactions to machining processes.
- Strong math skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with XL products and strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail, risk analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to handle stress and participate in continued education courses for career growth (e.g., TQM/CQT/CQE).
