Quality Technician

About the Role

Entry-level technicians who perform complex manual inspection tasks and operate sophisticated equipment such as manual CMMs, CNC CMMs, and optical comparators.

Responsibilities

• Operation of manual and CNC CMMs
• Setup and operation of Optical Comparators
• Use of inspection tools, including, but not limited to: height gauges, calipers, pin gauges, thread gauges, and countersink gauges
• Completion of inspection reports and other required paperwork
• Acting as an example to the rest of the plant on use of procedures, following rules and policies, and cleanliness

Requirements

• High school diploma (minimum education level)
• College degree in a technical field is helpful but not required
• Experience in inspection or calibration is helpful
• Attention to detail, organization, and a high degree of work ethics

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents, including contracts, design drawings, and specifications
• Proficiency with MS Excel and ability to learn and operate proficiently in less common software packages (e.g., MCOSMOS)
• Ability to make decisions based upon incomplete data

Physical Demands

• Ability to move items up to 50 lbs
• Required to pass an annual eye examination
• May require extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking

Work Environment

The work environment is on the production floor, which includes both climate-controlled areas and areas that are less controlled.
