Quality Technician

Contract to Hire position based in Chicago, IL.

About the role

Will be working on the inspection of different metal parts. The candidate will use a micrometer, caliper, and comparator. Will be using a CMM machine for inspection and will need to program the CMM long-term (training provided). The role involves:

• 80% of the day: inspection and documentation of production parts through the quality process
• 15% of the day: CMM operations
• 5% of the day: general duties such as cleaning work area and filing paperwork

Responsibilities

• Inspect metal parts using micrometers, calipers, and comparators
• Operate and program CMM machines
• Document inspection results
• Maintain a clean work area and handle filing paperwork

Requirements

• ITAR compliant
• Proficient in using micrometers and calipers
• Blueprint reading or strong math skills
• Understanding of tolerances, dimensions, and GD&T using instruments
• Experience with internal auditing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred)

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
