About the role

Location: Richfield, WI
Shift: 3rd (10pm - 6:30am)

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspection and verification of manufacturing lines, equipment, and processes throughout the plant based on an agreed-upon schedule; complete documentation when complete.
  • Perform instrument calibrations as needed (thermometers, gauges, lab equipment, etc.).
  • Sampling and testing of raw materials, materials in progress, and finished goods; identify non-conforming material (NCM) and assist with the NCM process.
  • Help maintain a library of retained samples to assist with material approvals and complaint investigations.
  • Regularly interact with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Logistics employees and supervisors to provide useful feedback on quality-related issues or concerns.
  • Verify the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are being met throughout the manufacturing plant and its processes.
  • Lead the environmental swabbing program to ensure pathogen control.
  • Assist in monthly internal GMP audits to include documentation and corrective actions.
  • Participate in the shelf life monitoring program.
  • Lead the collection, analysis, summary, and reporting of data in an appropriate format.
  • Investigate issues or potential issues and work with relevant parties to perform root cause analysis for deviations and customer complaints.
  • Willing to occasionally help on other shifts when vacations or emergency situations arise.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of processes and procedures within the Quality Assurance department.
  • Participate in cross-functional team collaboration to assure effective implementation and adherence of Quality Assurance initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Assist the Quality Supervisor in the training of new Quality Technicians.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in quality assurance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google programs.
  • Understanding of food safety and quality systems and manufacturing processes and technologies (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in food, biological, or chemical science field (preferred).
