About the role

As Quality Tech I, under immediate supervision, responsibility may include inspecting materials and products for conformance to specifications using fixed or preset measuring instruments to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met to satisfy customer requirements. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, this position is based in Parsons, Tennessee.

Since 1969 Kolpak has been a leading global brand, centrally located between Memphis and Nashville just off I‑40 on the beautiful Tennessee River in Parsons, TN. Responsibilities

• Inspect materials for conformance
• Utilize calibration tools
• Report findings
• Audit/inspect raw material, component parts, sub‑assemblies, and finished goods to ensure conformance to specifications
• Adapt and/or calibrate equipment (including but not limited to tape measures, micrometers, and calipers) to established guidelines, typically under the guidance of an outside vendor
• Complete and maintain all associated electronic processes and paperwork (including but not limited to bar‑coding, checklists, stamping, blueprints, shipping/receiving documents, accessory lists, and scanning of materials)
• Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards
• Perform duties in accordance with current Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and Manitowoc Code of Conduct requirements
• Actively participate in safety training and demonstrate competency by effectively resolving safety issues or bringing them to the attention of management

Qualifications

• Basic math and reading comprehension skills
• 1‑3 years experience required
• High School Diploma required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Intermediate math and reading comprehension skills
• Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper
• Basic Microsoft Office
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English language
• Basic time‑management skills
• Ability to demonstrate safe and effective utilization of all required equipment
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete up to 100% of work day
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs alone and over 50 lbs with assistance
• Ability to climb and balance
• Ability to use hands to reach and to handle or feel
• Manual dexterity in hands for tool usage
• Ability to visually inspect product
• Ability to work in non‑temperature controlled environments
• Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment
