Quality Systems Manager
Position Scope
The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving project-specific quality programs across transmission lines, substations, switchyards, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and related energy infrastructure projects. The Quality Systems Manager partners with operations, project management, engineering, construction, and clients to ensure work is executed in accordance with contract requirements, industry standards, company procedures, and customer expectations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the corporate Quality Management System (QMS), including Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, templates, and quality standards across The Company.
- Review contract documents, client specifications, and project requirements to identify quality obligations and ensure they are incorporated into project-specific quality documentation.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver quality training programs for field and office personnel, including onboarding, refresher training, client-specific requirements, quality procedures, and lessons learned.
- Establish and maintain competency and qualification matrices to ensure personnel receive appropriate quality training and maintain required qualifications.
- Conduct internal and external quality audits, surveillance activities, and compliance assessments to verify adherence to company procedures, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Analyze quality metrics, audit findings, and lessons learned to identify organizational trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead quality investigations and root cause analyses for significant quality issues, incorporating corrective actions and preventive measures into company procedures and training programs.
- Develop and maintain standardized quality documentation, forms, guidance documents, and best practices to improve consistency across both organizations.
- Serve as the corporate quality subject matter expert by providing guidance and technical support to project teams, leadership, suppliers, and subcontractors on quality-related matters.
- Aid with client quality audits and meetings to maintain strong client relationships and demonstrate compliance with contractual quality requirements.
- Collaborate with Operations, Project Management, and Executive Leadership to improve quality systems, standardize processes, and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Education and Work Experience
- Minimum 5 years of quality management experience supporting construction, utility, industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field preferred.
- ASQ certifications, ISO training, Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or related certifications preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience with substations, switchyards, transmission lines, Battery Energy Storage Systems, or similar heavy construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing project portfolios or multi-site programs within EPC, utility, or industrial construction.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience interfacing with project owners, lenders, and external stakeholders on quality matters.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across departments and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, testing requirements, and commissioning processes.
