About the Role

Join our Navy Systems team in York, PA, where we custom design chilled water air conditioning and refrigeration systems for U.S. Navy and Coast Guard vessels—from submarines to aircraft carriers. With over 100 years of experience, this role ensures our Quality Management System (QMS) conforms to internal, customer, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements. As a key leadership position, you’ll drive modernization efforts to improve first-pass yields, on-time delivery, product flow, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization’s QMS conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Lead and manage internal audit and layered process audit programs.
  • Organize and serve as the lead for customer, regulatory, and third-party accreditation audits.
  • Update, modernize, and implement digital solutions for QMS-related systems, procedures, and transactions.
  • Develop and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards for QMS performance.
  • Report QMS performance, including improvement needs, to senior management.
  • Provide QMS training as required.
  • Manage inspector and QMS-related training requirements and records.
  • Maintain the document and change control system.
  • Oversee the non-conforming material system for internal and supplier discrepancies.
  • Assist with development and release of procedures and standard work.
  • Manage the corrective and preventive action system and performance.
  • Maintain records retention requirements and storage.
  • Review and approve engineering, product, and process documentation for compliance.
  • Prepare notifications and technical submittals for customers and internal teams.
  • Manage source inspection scheduling and coordination.
  • Maintain approved suppliers’ accreditation status and performance.
  • Oversee the supplier survey process and ensure flow-down of quality requirements.
  • Identify and maintain up-to-date customer, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement teams to reduce cost of poor quality (COPQ), improve first-pass yields, and enhance product flow/throughput.
  • Support COPQ metrics and analysis for continuous improvement teams.
  • Generate reporting metrics for scrap, rework, and first-pass yield.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of quality auditing experience.
  • Experience supporting heavy industrial, automotive, aerospace, metal machining, or welding/fabrication environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and standards (e.g., ISO 9000, TS 16949, AS 9100).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Minitab, or other quality data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead product quality, process, and system improvement teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lead ISO 9001 auditor with customer and regulatory audit experience.
  • Knowledge of non-destructive inspection methods (e.g., MT/PT/VT/ET/UT).
  • Experience with measurement systems analysis, GD&T, and blueprint reading.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Metallurgy) or related discipline.
  • Formal Lean or Six Sigma training.

Benefits

  • Eligible for benefits on the first day of employment.
  • 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays (6.5 weeks total).

Pay

Salary range: $115,000 – $145,000 (negotiable based on experience). Bonus eligible.
