Quality Supervisor
About the role
This role is part of our Purina Animal Nutrition business helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers and animal owners throughout the United States. As a Quality Production Supervisor you will be the facility head of our quality programs, including Land O’ Lakes Quality Standards, HACCP, FDA & OSHA regulations, to ensure safe animal feed is produced in a safe manufacturing environment. This role will also support production as needed. You will provide coaching and training on quality & EH&S standards, HACCP, FDA & OSHA regulations, state and federal requirements, and other regulatory initiatives. You will help and at times lead production scheduling, ingredient inventory management, continuous improvement projects, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to resolve issues. You will implement key EH&S and Quality programs and corporate initiatives, interact with production staff, and provide coaching and training on quality standards, HACCP, and other regulatory initiatives. This position has 2 direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Serve as facility head of quality programs (Land O’ Lakes Quality Standards, HACCP, FDA & OSHA regulations)
- Ensure safe animal feed production in a safe manufacturing environment
- Provide coaching and training on quality & EH&S standards, HACCP, FDA & OSHA regulations, state/federal requirements, and regulatory initiatives
- Support production scheduling and ingredient inventory management
- Lead continuous improvement projects, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Implement key EH&S and Quality programs and corporate initiatives
- Interact with production staff, providing coaching and training on quality standards, HACCP, and regulatory initiatives
- Supervise 2 direct reports
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years experience in QA in feed, food, or related fields
- Candidates in Land O' Lakes rotational programs (TAP/MMT/DMT) will be considered

- FDA and regulatory experience

- Ability to be insightful and act strategically and tactically
- Strong Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint skills
- Knowledge of FDA, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory agencies
- ERP experience (JDE)
Physical requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; at times this position could be asked to perform activities on the production floor.
Pay
Salary: $70,800 – $106,200. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of the salary range.
