About the role

The Manufacturing Quality Supervisor (2nd Shift) is responsible for leading teams in meeting safety and quality standards, assisting in new product development, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Front line liaison to production supervisors and staff for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Aids in planning quality control engineering assignments.
  • Schedules tasks to meet project deadlines and technical specifications.
  • Maintains quality standards for both internal and external vendors and departments.
  • Develops and documents critical inspection criteria for product features.
  • Analyzes production limitations and suggests revisions to specifications if necessary.
  • Formulates quality control policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates progress and results, and makes recommendations for procedure changes or objectives.
  • Trains and mentors technicians in quality control practices.
  • Works within approved budget.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in quality, process engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous quality experience in automotive or similar assembly industries preferred.
  • Strong process improvement background, including PFMEA, control plans, RCCA (8D), CAR/CAPA, DOE, gage R&R, PPAP, engineering drawing, GD&T, product failure analysis, and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Demonstrated Black Belt knowledge and experience with Six Sigma methods/tools and Lean Manufacturing preferred.

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred, or relevant experience.
  • Strong process improvement background, including PFMEA, control plans, RCCA (8D), CAR/CAPA, DOE, gage R&R, PPAP, engineering drawing, GD&T, product failure analysis, and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
