Quality Specialist, PQC/QMS

About the role

Corning is seeking a Quality Control & Assurance Specialist to join our manufacturing team for photovoltaic modules. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of materials, processes, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor production processes to identify and address deviations or non-conformities.
• Perform and analyze quality testing, including EL, IV, and appearance tests for photovoltaic modules.
• Investigate customer complaints and coordinate with relevant teams to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Track and report on the implementation of improvement measures to prevent reoccurrence.
• Assist with internal and external quality audits, including ISO9001 and customer-specific certifications.
• Audit and ensure all processes meet the required standards and prepare for customer factory inspections.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for process optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports, audit findings, and corrective action plans.
• Update and revise quality documentation as needed to reflect process or product changes.
• Provide quality training for production teams to improve awareness and adherence to quality standards.
• Stay updated on industry standards and best practices to enhance quality systems.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or higher in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in quality control/assurance, preferably in solar or electronics manufacturing or related field.
• Skills: Proficiency in quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, and MSA; familiarity with ISO9001 and photovoltaic manufacturing standards; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MES software.
• Language Proficiency: English required; Mandarin/Chinese is a plus.

Pay

The range for this position is $48,530.00 - $66,729.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
