About the role

A Quality Specialist (Final Inspection) is responsible for visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, specifications and contract/purchase order information to validate compliance with Internal and external requirements. The Quality Specialist performs a hardware review and generates a detailed end item data package sent with customer shipments. This role assists in supporting company goals for continuous improvement, customer satisfaction and mission success.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical measurements and visual inspections of parts against drawings, specifications, assembly and test records to validate customer requirements have been met.
  • Read and understand drawing requirements to verify conformity of parts.
  • Utilize measurement equipment such as calipers, dial indicators, optical comparators, and scales.
  • Communicates required adjustments (re-work) to production supervision where applicable for defects identified.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports/logs and inputting data into quality database.
  • Cookbook creation and coordination with Engineering, Operations, and alternate disciplines where applicable to resolve issues and meet goals.
  • Create objective evidence document package (end item document package) for customer presentation.
  • Interact with Source Inspectors.
  • Understanding of cleanliness requirements and FOD controls in order to effectively operate in specified confines (i.e. flowbench, cleanroom).

Qualifications

  • High school/technical school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiar with AQL (acceptable quality level), sampling methods and traceability.
  • Strong verbal/written and communication skills.
  • Interacts with customers both internal and external with management engagement/oversight.
  • Demonstration of computer literacy, with MS Office/PC, and experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch, and move about the facility.
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Pay

Pay Range: $25 - $35 per hour

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are 40 hours/week. Overtime and weekend work are required, as job duties demand.
