About the role
As a Quality Specialist at Perrigo, you will drive improvement and management of quality systems that support consumer preference and trust. This autonomous role, reporting to the Quality Compliance Supervisor, focuses on overseeing the Document Control Program and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Own knowledge transfer and continuous improvement in methodology through updated methods and available technology.
- Integrate point-of-use documents using the best approach for operator use.
- Ensure the Document Control program complies with requirements from all applicable regulatory bodies (e.g., FDA, USDA, WDA, Kosher, Halal, ISO).
- Support the facility during internal and external audits and assessments.
- Maintain, sustain, and improve the Document Control program, including identifying and implementing technological solutions.
- Support the creation, revision, issuance, control, and maintenance of controlled documents related to product manufacturing and other quality, food safety, safety, and environmental management needs.
- Facilitate the document review process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and maintain document templates to ensure compliance with company formatting requirements.
- Coach users and conduct training related to Document Control procedures and processes as needed.
- Develop, coach, and train users to ensure highly effective and efficient quality systems.
- Promote effective collaboration and document control practices throughout the facility.
- Identify areas for improvement related to document control.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (preferred in microbiology, chemistry, or food science).
- 2 or more years of quality-related experience.
- Experience in a regulated food manufacturing environment with exposure to 21 CFR 106, 21 CFR 107, 21 CFR 117, Lean manufacturing philosophy, and FSSC 22000/SQF regulations is preferred but not required.
Skills
- Ability to work independently and translate technical/quality/compliance theory into practical application.
- Proficiency with PCs and software such as Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
