Position Summary

Teal Drones, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, seeks a full-time Quality Specialist to ensure the quality and reliability of all materials and components provided by Teal Drones. The Quality Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional departments to drive continual improvement, maintain compliance with quality standards, and support the production of high-quality products.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serve as the site's Calibration Coordinator, maintaining the calibration system and ensuring all inspection, measurement, and test equipment remains compliant with internal procedures and applicable standards.
  • Cook up calibration activities with external service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely calibration, record maintenance, and equipment availability.
  • Maintain calibration records, monitor calibration due dates, and evaluate potential product impacts resulting from out-of-tolerance calibration events.
  • Chair the Material Review Board (MRB) process, facilitating cross-functional review and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Ensure nonconforming material is properly tagged, documented, contained, dispositioned, and tracked through closure in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality personnel to determine appropriate MRB dispositions and corrective actions.
  • Monitor nonconformance trends and provide data to support corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
  • Participate in the internal audit program in accordance with AS9100 requirements and company procedures.
  • Conduct process, product, and quality management system audits to verify compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Document audit findings, communicate results to process owners, and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Adhere to audit schedules, records, findings, and corrective action follow-up activities.
  • Aid with quality metrics reporting, management reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain quality records and documentation in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or another related technical field, or, additional 4+ years of work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or compliance role within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience administering quality systems, controlled documentation, and quality records.
  • Experience working with nonconforming material processes and corrective action systems.
  • Experience conducting audits or participating in quality system assessments.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and drive actions to closure.

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • AS9100 Internal Auditor training or certification.
  • Experience serving as an MRB Coordinator, MRB Chair, or similar quality leadership role.
  • Experience managing calibration systems and inspection/test equipment.
  • Experience working in an AS9100, ISO 9001, or other regulated quality management system environment.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies and corrective action processes.
  • Experience with ERP, PLM, or electronic Quality Management Systems (eQMS).
  • ASQ certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).
  • Experience supporting customer, regulatory, and certification audits.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed.
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
