Description
Support, promote, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) while driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance compliance, operational effectiveness, and overall product quality.
Serve as a key quality resource for manufacturing, customer, and regulatory requirements by auditing systems and processes, investigating quality issues, managing corrective actions, supporting audits, and ensuring ongoing adherence to quality standards.
Requirements
- Audit quality systems, manufacturing processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct final inspections and perform batch and ticket reviews to verify product conformity.
- Facilitate root-cause investigations for internal nonconformances and customer issues; implement, track, and document corrective actions.
- Determine product acceptability and disposition of nonconforming materials.
- Develop, revise, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and supporting documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding Quality Management System requirements.
- Collaborate with managers, supervisors, customers, and cross-functional teams through written and verbal communication.
- Deliver Quality System training and reinforce a positive quality culture throughout the organization.
- Support project management activities and quality-related improvement initiatives.
- Lead internal audits, including planning, scheduling, execution, reporting, and follow-up activities.
- Analyze quality performance data, customer complaints, audit findings, and nonconformance trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Define quality acceptance standards using specifications, drawings, samples, and established criteria.
- Simplify and improve existing QMS documentation for usability and compliance.
- Participate in customer meetings and present quality metrics and findings to all levels of the organization.
- Implement updates to the Quality Management System to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Carefully coordinate and manage the Change Control process.
- Respond to customer audits, assessments, and questionnaires.
- Serve as backup to the Quality Manager when required.
- Prepare quality-related presentations, including GMP and Management Review materials.
- Support and host customer, ISO, FSC, and SFI audits, as required.
- Close document control discrepancies and manage corrections within the document management system.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum one year of related quality assurance, quality systems, or manufacturing experience.
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, employees, and small groups.
- Ability to respond professionally to customer inquiries, complaints, and regulatory requests.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Working knowledge of mathematics, including basic algebra and geometry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email, databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively by telephone and provide customer support when needed.
- Knowledge of modern office systems, records management, and administrative procedures.
- Ability to establish, maintain, and access controlled records and permanent files.
- Ability to meet applicable mechanical aptitude testing requirements.
- General understanding of manufacturing equipment, tools, gauges, auditing techniques, troubleshooting, and calibration processes.
- Ability to pass color vision and color hue testing requirements.
- Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
