About the role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Specialist to support day-to-day material management operations and provide critical support during a temporary resource gap within the engineering organization. This role will focus on material handling, inventory coordination, administrative tracking, and quality-focused support activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable to changing priorities, and possesses a strong quality mindset.
Responsibilities
- Locate, identify, and retrieve materials to support operational and engineering needs.
- Accurately label, sort, organize, and track materials throughout the facility.
- Record and maintain material movement and inventory data within company systems.
- Coordinate activities and communicate effectively with other Material Handlers and cross-functional teams.
- Perform administrative tasks related to material management, inventory tracking, and documentation.
- Support engineering teams by assisting with investigations and helping identify potential root causes of material-related issues.
- Ensure materials are properly documented and available to support production, testing, and engineering activities.
- Utilize Quest and other internal systems to maintain accurate records and support workflow requirements.
- Follow established quality procedures and promote compliance with company standards.
- Adapt to changing priorities and assist with additional material handling responsibilities as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3–5 years of experience in material handling, inventory control, warehouse operations, manufacturing support, or a related field.
- Experience with inventory management, material tracking, labeling, and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Comfortable performing administrative and computer-based tasks.
- Basic experience working within inventory or tracking software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP/GDMP).
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or technical operations teams.
- Experience using Quest or similar inventory/material management systems.
Physical Requirements
- Must be ambulatory and capable of moving throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, move, organize, and transport materials in accordance with company safety guidelines.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching may be required.
