Quality Specialist
About the role
The Animal Diagnostic Laboratory (ADL) is searching for a skilled Quality Specialist. The primary purpose of the Quality Specialist is to support the efficient and effective functioning of the Quality Management System of both the ADL (University Park) and the Keystone Animal Diagnostic Center (KADC; Beaver Campus), under the direction and supervision of the Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the catalog of diagnostic standard operating procedures used in the laboratories.
- Reviewing and approving training documentation.
- Monitoring corrective actions.
- Overseeing equipment maintenance and the safety program.
- Carrying out internal audits.
- Cross-train and perform benchtop testing as a laboratory technologist in other areas of the diagnostic laboratory as needs arise and shift into related disciplines (e.g., Serology, molecular diagnostics, and/or parasitology).
- Proficiency testing may be required to conduct specific tests.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, microbiology, veterinary science, or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working in a diagnostic laboratory setting or with test methods.
- Experience with diagnostic Quality assurance and Quality control programs.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and precision, good judgment, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are essential attributes of the successful candidate.
Pay
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $54,060.00 - $78,444.00.
