Quality Specialist

About the role

NISC is seeking a Manual Quality Assurance Tester who will work closely with the software engineering, product, quality assurance, and software support teams to ensure that software changes meet design specifications and function according to quality management standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist and perform in testing basic level tasks to ensure software changes meet design specifications and are functioning within quality management standards.
• Research, test, and report results of testing scenarios.
• Write release notes and new system enhancement documentation.
• Participate on design teams regarding enhancements to products.
• Test system documentation as necessary and suggest edits/enhancements.
• Answer basic level questions regarding application screens and processes responsible for testing.
• Communicate with developers and software engineers on product issues.
• Gather and interpret source materials such as design and test specifications, design diagrams, and schematics.
• Leverage generative AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving within the scope of the role.

Requirements

• Basic level knowledge of quality assurance testing and automated testing tools, including mobile testing.
• Possess basic ability to troubleshoot.
• Basic level knowledge of business-related software applications and services.
• Basic level knowledge of NISC’s technology stacks.
• Basic level knowledge of the Utility or Broadband industries.
• Basic level knowledge of Project Management processes and theory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic research and problem-solving skills.
• Possess a strong attention to detail.
• Basic level ability to organize and prioritize.
• Basic level ability to set and manage internal and external Member/Customer expectations.
• Basic level ability to demonstrate initiative and accountability.
• Basic level knowledge of software and software integrations.
• Able to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The work schedule is hybrid, with minimum of working 3 days per week out of an office location and ability to work up to all 5 days a week from an office location.
