About the role
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company dedicated to transforming military capabilities through advanced technology. The Quality Engineering Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Anduril’s systems.
Responsibilities
- Manages the site Materials Review Board (MRB) process
- Assists in resolving and containing nonconforming materials
- Reviews and provides feedback on Manufacturing Work Instructions
- Supports inspectors in making go/no-go decisions
- Leads containment of nonconforming items and verifies non-conforming parts
- Conducts root cause analysis
- Coordinates internal triage with engineering teams for nonconformance dispositions
- Ensures accurate and complete data collection for the MRB process
- Communicates process performance and quality issues to stakeholders
- Tracks and reports MRB metrics weekly
- Executes vendor RMA with collaboration between Warehouse and Buyers
- Manages quality containment for material, tooling, and inspection equipment
- Creates and executes inspection plans for incoming material, in-process, and end-of-line inspections
- Trains technicians and inspectors on inspection plans and data capture
- Proposes, develops, and implements quality assurance policies and procedures
- Conducts internal audits on processes and procedures
- Analyzes data and performs traceability investigations
- Stays updated with new inspection technologies and recommends improvements
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or quality/engineering roles
- Experience in a manufacturing environment supporting HW development and quality management
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection data management tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience with calibrated equipment and reading engineering drawings
- Experience with Calibrated equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, Faro arm, OMM, etc.)
- Experience with electrical and electronic component inspection
- Knowledge of dimensional and tolerancing (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Experience with validation and testing assemblies and their components
- Experience with supplier communication and cross-functional teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical or Associates degree in related quality/mechanical/aerospace engineering field
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, or equivalent
- Direct experience with First Article Inspection and Reporting
- AS9100, ISO9001, IATF 16949 or similar QMS standard experience
- Experience with manufacturing processes and systems (Jira, MES, ERP, Teamcenter, CAD)
- Experience with auditing processes and procedures
- Detail-oriented self-starter with minimal oversight
