Quality Specialist

This role is based in McBee, SC, within the NAWH Business Unit, and operates in an onsite workplace setting.
About the Role
This position leads quality-related functions, including blitz/team activities, action item management, and QA projects. The employee will communicate with upper management, peers, supervisors, and engineers, and conduct manufacturing and lab audits. Responsibilities include routine checks, tests, gaging, and instrument inspections of materials, goods in process, and finished goods.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine tests on materials, goods in process, or finished goods, comparing results with company quality standards and reporting findings to supervisors for analysis.
- Inspects visually for defects and performs detailed visual inspections where limits are not clearly defined.
- Removes defective products and returns acceptable items to the production line.
- Notifies line supervisors when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major quality issues arise.
- Records and reports inspection results, including defect counts, on forms or charts.
- Maintains and posts inspection data, quality levels, and special quality studies.
- Recommends disposition of questionable products to supervisors.
- May act as a quality control clerk, maintaining all facility quality records.
- May collect scrap by removing tested and product samples from QA inspection stations.
- Performs other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Quality processes, procedures, and tools (SPC, Six Sigma, and Statistical Analysis).
- Familiarity with ISO requirements and Lean Manufacturing.
- Communication and leadership abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to initiate change and drive continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to achieve goals and deliver results.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience facilitating blitzes and meetings.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
