Eaton’s CPDI OPS Operations division is seeking a Quality Specialist at our Spring Forest Rd location in Raleigh, NC.

$23.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of duties to ensure the production quality of all products in accordance with established Lean Manufacturing workmanship standards, assembly procedures, ISO 9001:2000 Quality system requirements, and the Eaton Quality System.
  • Assist in quality audits, workmanship defect reduction efforts, corrective and preventive action identification, analysis and reporting, inspection of returned units, and special inspections.
  • Assist departments in meeting product quality targets by working closely with Engineering, Materials Management, and Operational Excellence.
  • Perform inspection activities and capture videos/photos on in-process and completed assemblies as required.
  • Analyze and report production non-conformances.
  • Coordinate feedback on problems affecting quality, BOM, tooling issues, raw materials, training, and prints to Supervisors, Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, or Product Engineers as needed.
  • Initiate, participate in, and/or coordinate internal 8D corrective actions (CARs), Failure Effect Mode Analysis, and Control Planning, including follow-up of vendor 8D corrective actions.
  • Train and educate associates in product inspection to drive performance improvements and communicate quality standards to Production Supervisors and teams.
  • Create Final Inspection programs and assist in developing actions for continued Quality System improvements.
  • Follow Eaton Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, set safety objectives, and follow JSA procedures.
  • Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited school.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Raleigh, North Carolina (Active-Duty Military exempt from geographical limitation).

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of the principles and methodology of Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, and/or engineering of electro-mechanical devices.
  • Two years post-secondary education with an associate degree in electronics or equivalent related education (e.g., Vocational Technical School).
  • Understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Lock-out/Tag-out knowledge.
  • Eaton Product knowledge, HALT/HASS, and chamber basics and concepts.

Skills

  • Ability to frequently stand, bend, and walk.
  • Ability to distinguish colored wires.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use forklifts and power industrial equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to make informed decisions.
  • Strong customer service attitude.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare, read, analyze, and interpret product drawings, manufacturing documents, quality specs, and industry/trade magazines.
  • Working knowledge of ASQ and ISO auditing standards.
