About the role
We are seeking a Quality Review Specialist responsible for coordinating the medical staff peer review process, preparing case summaries, analyzing clinical data, and facilitating peer review committee meetings. The role involves collaborating with Medical Staff Leadership to develop review indicators, supporting OPPE and FPPE activities, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards such as TJC and CMS. Additional responsibilities include providing education on peer review principles, guiding stakeholders, supporting credentialing, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and review clinical data for peer review processes
- Facilitate peer review committee meetings
- Prepare case summaries and reports
- Support Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) activities
- Develop review indicators in collaboration with Medical Staff Leadership
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards (e.g., TJC, CMS)
- Provide education on peer review principles to stakeholders
- Support credentialing processes
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (required)
- Master's degree in a healthcare-related field (preferred)
- Registered Nurse licensure in Illinois or relevant clinical license
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) (preferred)
- 5-7 years of clinical experience
Skills
- Strong knowledge of peer review processes and quality improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., TJC, CMS)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities
