About the Role

As a Quality & Process Engineer, you will be a key member of Storyteller’s Technology, Engineering, and Design (TED) team. You’ll collaborate with production, quality, purchasing, service, and management teams to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery metrics while serving as a brand ambassador within our community of adventurers.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate production processes, equipment, and safety practices to identify risks and recommend improvements that enhance safety, quality, and operational performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve standardized work instructions, process documentation, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Lead and support engineering change management activities to ensure timely and effective implementation of process and product changes.
  • Identify opportunities for assembly aids, tooling, fixtures, and ergonomic improvements to increase productivity while reducing variation and operator fatigue.
  • Partner with Product Development and R&D to support design validation, manufacturability, and successful new product introductions.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of production training programs and standardized work.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Safety, Customer Experience, and other teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve operational performance.
  • Conduct time studies, cycle time analysis, line balancing, and workflow assessments to identify bottlenecks and increase throughput.
  • Analyze production data and prepare reports, dashboards, engineering documentation, defect trends, and project updates to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Contribute to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes, including PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, PPAP, and related quality systems.
  • Develop, implement, and support layered process audits and manufacturing process audits to ensure compliance with established standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, visual management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement through collaboration and teamwork.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment; lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with general hand/shop tools and willingness to be hands-on as needed.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks while multitasking.
  • Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Active listener and relationship builder.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing/process engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proven track record in a fast-paced, high-impact role requiring high attention to detail and follow-through.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking on the manufacturing floor.
  • Precision and coordination for assembling components and operating machinery.
  • Use of hand and power tools with a steady hand.
  • Reaching, stretching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching to access work areas.
  • Good visual acuity for inspecting components and reading technical documents.
  • Ability to hear and respond to alarms, machinery sounds, and co-worker communication.
  • Pushing or pulling carts, materials, or equipment as needed.
  • Extended periods of sitting for computer work or documentation.
  • Potential exposure to chemicals or substances; proper safety protocols and PPE will be provided.

Compressed: Operating hours are 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
