About the role
The Plant Quality Manager (PQM) will oversee a team of quality and product engineers, quality assurance supervisors, and quality systems. Key responsibilities include implementing and executing quality systems, auditing processes and product standards, providing problem-solving expertise, and representing customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee crew operations and provide leadership for quality system implementation and execution
- Achieve plant and corporate quality targets and key performance indicators
- Audit process and product standards for conformance
- Provide problem-solving expertise and lead through excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment
- Establish partnerships both internally and externally and influence without direct authority
- Benchmark and execute world-class manufacturing for quality organizations and systems
- Represent the "Voice of the Customer" to platform teams
- Drive team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles
- Demonstrate unwavering commitment to delivering results and championing achievements
- Show a willingness to do things differently and consistently translate ideas into actions that deliver results
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering OR other bachelor's degree in combination with relevant experience
- 8+ years of quality, manufacturing, and/or design/release related experience
- Supervisory experience leading people and larger teams/departments
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build solid partnerships, both internally and externally
- Expertise in planning, prioritizing, and goal setting including the ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency, create detailed action plans, and organize schedules, people, and tasks
- Experience working in a lean/flat organization with cross-functional skills
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to quickly filter and prioritize action items
- Effective communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership
- Commitment and dedication in delivering a premier product to the consumer
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment
- Proven track record for developing and leading people, executing standardization of manufacturing quality systems, and achieving quality goals and key performance indicators
- Ability to lead and present the QCS Pillar
- Ability to work weekends if required
