About the Role

This Quality & Mission Assurance (QMA) Lead in Tucson, AZ will serve as the interface for the Stinger Program, customers, and suppliers, ensuring the effective implementation of all QMA requirements. The role involves oversight and coordination of in-country supplier quality managers supporting program requirements, including domestic and international co-development and co-production. The position is part of the Short & Medium-Range Ground Based Air Defense (SMGBAD) Sub Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) within the Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Engage on both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality, cost, and schedule performance, early engagement, and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers.
  • Develop and grow a team of Quality Program Leads.
  • Serve as the prime QMA interface with the program, customers, and supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and support on all matters pertaining to technical quality, financial performance, and compliance with Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Establish effective relationships with internal and external customers, managing and influencing across multiple levels of stakeholders.
  • Ensure the quality of delivered products and services, manage quality risks, and lead resolution of customer expectations related to QMA.
  • Act as the primary QMA liaison on requirements, definitions, technical quality, and program implementation decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical QMA plans to directly affect program execution and on-time delivery.
  • Identify and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives for processes and command media using conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation skills.
  • Assure inclusion of quality requirements, planning, and consistency for program estimates and proposals.
  • Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Review and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) activities for systemic issues.
  • Facilitate the application of statistical process controls to special processes and key product characteristics to meet end-item performance requirements and mission assurance objectives.
  • Accountable for quality performance, scope responsibility, financial Estimate at Completion (EAC) Reviews, and overall Quality EAC planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Twelve (12) years of relevant experience in quality or engineering within the defense industry.
  • Minimum 6 years’ customer interface management experience (e.g., Acquisition Customers, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)).
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification and experience with earned value (EV) performance-to-cost, schedule, and technical performance, including cost accounting methodologies.
  • Experience establishing cost estimates and Basis of Estimates (BOE).
  • Experience in both production and design phases of a program, including related production disciplines (e.g., operations, supply chain, engineering, or quality).
  • Within 6 months of hire, must obtain Raytheon’s Basis of Estimates (BOE) Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Advanced Degree.
  • Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) Certification or other continuous improvement methodology.
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certification.
  • Experience leading a geographically dispersed team.
  • Experience with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar gate management process.
  • Experience in other functional areas such as engineering, supplier engineering, or operations.
  • Working experience solving both business and technical problems.
  • Documented experience with successful international assignments.
  • Working experience interfacing closely with foreign national customers.
  • In-depth understanding of contract flow and compliance.
  • Proven ability to effectively influence cross-functional and supplier partners to achieve business goals.
  • Experience managing a budget greater than $30M while supporting a program greater than $1B.
  • Successful track record of leading initiatives and delivering business solutions that reduce operating costs, maximize profit, and optimize customer satisfaction.
  • Strong mentorship aptitude, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $157,200 - $298,800 USD.

Schedule

This role is designated as onsite. Employees in onsite roles work primarily onsite and may be required to attend select interview steps in-person at one of our office locations.
