About the role
Entry level position in manufacturing engineering as part of our manufacturing training and development program assigned to quality department with a primary focus to improve inspection processes. This position will provide an excellent developmental opportunity with practical hands on projects contributing directly to the performance and success of the company.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability.
- Supports Quality Engineers in the design, implementation, Maintenance and perpetuation of Process Controls.
- Develops and improves inspection processes by studying product and inspection methods.
- Drives product and process changes to ensure close tolerance machined parts meet drawing requirements to reduce cost and improve quality and delivery.
- Develops error proofing devices and proposes product design changes based on pFMEA, Inspection results and DFM/DFA analysis.
- Conduct inspection correlation studies and enhance feedback system between Sargent inspection and supplier.
- Work with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering to ensure both legacy and development drawings can be inspected as dimensioned.
- Lead and Support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects, Problem solving and Quality Engineering (QE) projects.
- Designs processes to collect and analyze data, create report and publish reports under the direction of QEs.
- Supports QE in daily, weekly and monthly tasks always looking for more efficient ways to complete.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Engineering
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to use MS Office applications (email, Excel, Word and Power Point)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues with minimal direct supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering
- LLS-Green Belt
- Project Leadership, Project Management
- Experience/working knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and decipher manufacturing drawings and procedures
- Advanced MS Office applications; Access, Sharepoint, Teams, Project, MiniTab, Power BI
- Intermediate materials knowledge
