Quality Manager, Worldwide Grocery Stores, Product Quality Team

This role ensures products consistently meet our quality expectations by driving activities across multiple stakeholder teams, including Product Management, Sourcing, Product Development, Food Safety, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and suppliers.
About the role
As a Quality Manager, you will focus on monitoring product performance, managing trend analysis, and facilitating process improvements with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams. You’ll develop benchmarking mechanisms to assess category performance and reporting tools to track quality metrics. This role requires resourcefulness and creativity to identify automation opportunities and simplify data management while maintaining customer trust in our brands and products.
Responsibilities
- Conduct data analysis of customer feedback across food & beverage categories to identify and prioritize improvement activities, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to drive solutions.
- Assess and manage large data sets to enable business decisions.
- Identify, communicate, or escalate product quality risk areas using data and lead or support corrective actions.
- Navigate roadblocks and work with stakeholders and suppliers to drive solutions without compromising product safety, compliance, or customer satisfaction.
- Conduct product quality evaluations (cuttings) in a lab environment to ensure specification compliance.
- Define quality KPIs and develop mechanisms or dashboards to track and report quality performance metrics.
- Build process flows, SOPs, and define and align RACI for quality activities across cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve operations, mitigate repeat issues, develop guardrails, utilize automation, and drive process efficiencies, including cost savings.
- Travel as needed (up to 15% of the time) to meet with suppliers and support production activities or quality investigations.
A day in the life
Your day may start with an incident review meeting, providing updates on investigations and corrective actions. Throughout the day, you’ll analyze quality data, prepare investigation reports, and collaborate with teams to resolve quality incidents. You’ll lead quality review meetings with cross-functional partners, including Sourcing, Packaging Engineers, Product Development, and Food Safety teams, to address concerns and implement improvements. Time will be spent developing strategies based on findings and ensuring effective communication of quality status across the organization.
About the team
This role is part of the Product Quality team within Amazon’s World Wide Grocery Stores Private Brands organization. We manage over 4,000 private label products across Amazon and Whole Foods Market, including brands like Amazon Saver, Amazon Grocery, Whole Foods, and 365 by Whole Foods Market. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience working cross-functionally and across regions.
- Experience in oral and written communication.
- Experience using Excel and SQL.
- 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing, product development, quality control, or a related field.

- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions from large data sets.
- Experience in product development and analyzing customer feedback data and trend analysis.
- Experience operating in or managing a lab environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation).
- Proven ability to communicate technical details and requirements with non-technical team members.
- Track record of cultivating strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ability to drive decisions under time pressure without compromising safety or compliance.
- Experience building mechanisms to scale, track, audit, and maintain quality standards.
- Experience building process flows, SOPs, and RACIs for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving.
- Self-starter with the ability to define new and ambiguous spaces and projects.
- Demonstrated ability to own projects, think big, act quickly, and influence across all levels of an organization.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, or equivalent tools.
- Experience using SQL or other tools to build dashboards and manage large data sets for business decisions.
- Diversified experience with the entire product lifecycle and supply chain (R&D, scale-up, material sourcing, operations management, customer feedback).
Pay
- USA, TX, Austin: $68,800.00 – $120,400.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $80,200.00 – $120,400.00 USD annually
