Quality Manager II
About the role
The selected individual will be responsible for leading all activities pertaining to the maintenance of an effective Quality Management System. They will provide systems, resources, and procedures to ensure products and processes comply with multiple aerospace and other industries' certifications and quality standards. This role involves fulfilling the role of a Management Representative to customers regarding Pottsville’s Quality Management System, establishing and maintaining quality policies and procedures, overseeing the internal auditing process, coordinating supplier quality audits, leading the Corrective Action process, administering non-conforming material processes, providing feedback to the plant management team, organizing and motivating the quality department, and leading efforts for continual improvement in customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead by managing all activities pertaining to the maintenance of an effective Quality Management System.
- Provide systems, resources, and procedures to ensure products and processes are in compliance to multiple aerospace and other industries’ certifications and quality standards, as applicable.
- Fulfill role of Management Representative to customers with respect to Pottsville’s Quality Management System.
- Cover the establishment and maintenance of effective quality policies and procedures to meet customer and company requirements.
- Oversee the internal auditing process and function to assure a fully transparent view of the plant’s performance against its Quality Management System.
- Afford the development of quality plans and controls to meet requirements while minimizing production costs.
- Direct supplier quality audit and improvement efforts.
- Cookordinate and lead activities of the Corrective Action process.
- Administer the non-conforming material process and ensure timely and proper containment, segregation, and disposition of discrepant product.
- Provide regular feedback to The Pottsville Plant Management Team regarding the quality of products and services provided by isolating problems, identifying trends, and recommending continual improvement opportunities for the Quality Management System.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training and communication activities to assist in the motivation of employees toward achievement of quality objectives.
- Organize, develop, and motivate the quality department to meet site objectives while maximizing human resource utilization.
- Lead facility efforts for continual improvement in the level of Customer Satisfaction.
- Liaison with external parties on matters relating to the Quality Management System.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline and five years' experience in quality or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or industrial certifications.
- Demonstrated experience in Quality Management Systems ISO9001/AS9100/NADCAP including Auditor Certifications.
- ISO14001 and ISO45001 Management System knowledge preferred.
- Experience in statistical techniques for process control and data analysis.
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) framework experience.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and other Continuous Improvement techniques; Lean and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; ERP/MRP experience preferred.
- Prominent leadership and management skills.
- Strong facilitation, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Solid people and organizational management and development skills.
- Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines is essential.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a cross-functional team environment is critical.
