Quality Manager

About the role

Primarily responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product meets client or consumer specifications and demands, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies for repair and overhaul services, directing and advising personnel involved in repair and shipment, and carrying out all assigned tasks with authority.

Responsibilities

• Provide production coordination and planning, including scheduling, to ensure customer turn time objectives are achieved
• Maintain compliance with EASA145, FAR145, CAAC 145, and customer approvals
• Obtain and maintain AS9110 accreditation
• Serve as a liaison with regulatory authorities, customers, and external auditors
• Ensure that QMS processes and procedures meet statutory system requirements
• Approve all QMS documentation and new equipment/tooling that directly affects product quality
• Train personnel on Quality and Operator processes and procedures
• Conduct internal quality audits and audits of suppliers
• Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformances
• Track warranty, auditing, and customer feedback to improve process integrity
• Manage the tool and test equipment calibration system
• Ensure Quality manuals are current and compliant
• Ensure Training manuals and records are current and compliant
• Inspect product, processes, and metrics to find opportunities to improve quality
• Manage quality compliance and improvement programs
• Responsible for document control and gage calibration systems
• Ensure regulatory requirements and reports are maintained and compliant
• Assist in benchmarking best practices across the company
• Ensure shop floor procedures, documentation, and manuals are kept up to date
• Work in accordance with agreed competencies
• Perform duties free from impairment due to drugs (illegal or legally prescribed) per FAA regulations
• Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned
• Ensure adherence to Safety Rules and Regulations
• Maintain high levels of housekeeping within the work area
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with QHSE policy

Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Knowledge of JAR145 & FAR145 requirements
• Experience in an aviation component or accessories environment
• Strong knowledge of ISO9001/2000 and AS9110 Quality Systems
• Strong knowledge of mechanical component overhaul or manufacture in a highly regulated environment
• Knowledge of internal and third-party auditing
• Proficiency in computer software (MS Office, spreadsheets, internet, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project, Access)
• Skilled in operating office equipment (fax machines, copiers, phone systems)
• Skilled in basic data entry and management
• Skilled in supervising and leadership
• Skilled in analyzing and solving problems
• Skilled in attention to detail
• Skilled in oral and written communication (English)
