About the role
The Mechanical QA/QC Manager position is within CEC Facilities Group, one of Texas' premier specialty contractors. CEC is known for its strong commitment to quality, integrity, and hard work, which is reflected in the company's mission and operations.
Responsibilities
- Assemble project specifications based on customer requirements, regulations, industry standards, product instructions, and CEC quality standards.
- Evaluate personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards and capabilities.
- Ensure all personnel involved understand their project work tasks and quality responsibilities.
- Detail quality control measures throughout the construction process and conduct on-site quality audits.
- Ensure the overall effectiveness of the Quality System for all projects.
- Have authority to stop work, prevent use of non-compliant materials, and remove non-conforming work.
- Manage the Quality System, provide training, and implement quality control measures across all phases of a project.
- Communicate project-specific quality requirements to all relevant departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers.
- Maintain and monitor the Quality System, review and approve project quality-related documents, and resolve quality nonconformances.
- Work in various environments, including inside and outside, with exposure to extreme temperatures, weather conditions, and construction hazards.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and maintain a professional demeanor around customers and representatives.
Qualifications
- 7 years of industry experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Quality assurance experience
- Manufacturing and/or construction qualifications
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Plan and implement quality controls according to CEC Quality System and contracts
- Manage the operation of the CEC Quality System
- Train all tradesmen and employees on quality requirements
- Implement and manage all phases of quality control
- Communicate project-specific quality requirements to all departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers
- Ensure the Quality System is established and implemented by those affecting quality
- Monitor progress and maintain the Quality System
- Resolve quality nonconformances
