Develop, implement, and improve broadly defined quality engineering practices, including Zero Defect methodology, supporting the overall Quality Management System (QMS) and functional processes. Ensure compliance with customer technical expectations and quality-related requirements. Manage large, multi-function projects and support both domestic and global teams for the APS and EPM Divisions of Parker Lord.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead, and complete significant quality projects to achieve desired results in a timely, professional, and effective manner.
  • Develop, document, implement, and improve quality systems and processes to ensure conformance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure customer and company quality system and process expectations are clearly understood and implemented throughout the divisions.
  • Lead and coordinate internal activities in support of major customer and third-party certification efforts.
  • Support long-range quality planning efforts to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Promote quality alignment, best practices, and lessons learned across global teams of APS and EPM divisions.
  • Collaborate with functional owners to ensure integrity and application of the QMS.
  • Conduct quality audits/assessments to ensure ongoing conformance, assess effectiveness, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Interface with customer personnel to clarify quality requirements and resolve quality problems professionally and empathetically.
  • Support supplier quality management to improve supply base performance.
  • Administer and lead improvements to key software systems supporting quality management (e.g., Document Control, FMEA, MSA, MOC, dashboards).
  • Coordinate implementation of new functionality and systems.
  • Drive improvements to customer satisfaction and quality metrics through team-based initiatives and monitoring of KPIs.
  • Maintain proficiency in core and functional competencies through training, self-study, and professional development.
  • Determine customer quality requirements and analyze compatibility with internal processes, policies, and systems.
  • Facilitate resolution of differences between customer requirements and internal processes.
  • Lead quality-related training (e.g., AIAG Core Tools, Customer Specific Requirements) and develop training materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in Quality or Technology with demonstrated ability to assume increasing responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and multicultural environment.
  • Domestic travel as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to effectively manage and influence cross-functional teams, projects, and programs.
  • Knowledge of international quality system standards (ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016).
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Experience with internal and/or supplier quality system and process audits.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving methods and advanced statistical analysis tools (e.g., Ishikawa, 5-Why, control charts).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Risk-based decision-making and continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic financial acumen, including understanding of key financial metrics.
  • Broad knowledge of industry, national, and international quality system standards (e.g., VDA 6.3, Customer Specific Requirements).
  • Proficiency in leading internal and supplier quality audits.
  • Detailed knowledge of process manufacturing, related controls, and inspection/test methods.
  • Proficiency in advanced problem-solving methods and statistical tools (e.g., 10-Step Problem Solving, DOE, MSA).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and Power Apps.
  • Ability to communicate advanced quality concepts and technical data effectively.
  • Broad knowledge of Zero Defects methodology.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Internal Auditor Certification to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or VDA 6.3.
  • AIAG Core Tools certification.
