QUALITY INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR (GB)

About the role

The Quality Inspection Supervisor ensures that products and services meet customer expectations and company standards. They enforce quality control policies and procedures, develop inspection planning and sampling levels, and oversee the work of Quality and Certified Weld Inspectors. The role involves delegating tasks, prioritizing workloads, and adhering to the published Priority Dispatch report daily. The supervisor reviews documentation and performs visual and mechanical inspections to ensure compliance with contract requirements, preventing discrepant material from advancing in the production process.

Responsibilities

• Continuous Improvement & Talent Planning:
  • Promote process improvement
  • Drive talent planning and 1:1 development with direct reports
  • Identify training gaps and recommend development training
  • Lead and guide department leads
  • Recognize and reward employees for outstanding effort or successful ideas
• Workload Management:
  • Ensure adherence to daily work schedules and address exceptions
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements
  • Provide feedback to Master Scheduler on workload levels and capacity
  • Monitor on-time delivery, job status, and completion estimates
  • Follow up with leads daily to address issues or concerns
  • Monitor daily routines to ensure leads are engaged and addressing team needs
  • Ensure leads are productive and efficient
  • Fill in for absent employees or assist as needed
• Team Management:
  • Actively support Leadership meetings
  • Monitor employee and department performance
  • Address issues timely through documented conversations
  • Drive accountability in all facets of operations
• New Hires:
  • Ensure daily work is performed safely and adheres to safety policies
  • Provide verbal reminders about work policies, start times, safety, behavior, and values
• Inspection-Specific:
  • Develop, mentor, and train employees on inspection techniques/procedures
  • Guide others in the proper use of inspection equipment
  • Demonstrate responsible behavior according to company values
  • Ensure health and safety of oneself and others; communicate potential hazards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager
