Responsibilities

  • Protect product quality at the final checkpoint: Verify that all products leaving the production line meet company technical specifications, ensuring only compliant products move forward to customers or the next process.
  • Detect and prevent defects early: Carefully compare the physical characteristics of materials, components, and finished products against technical specifications to identify defects before they create larger operational or customer issues.
  • Maintain strict segregation of non-conforming products: Quickly isolate products that fail to meet specifications, preventing them from entering the supply chain and protecting the company’s quality standards and reputation.
  • Apply precise measurement and inspection techniques: Use both basic and advanced measurement tools to accurately assess product dimensions, tolerances, and other required characteristics.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and traceability: Record all non-conforming products in the designated systems, creating clear data that supports quality analysis, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Strengthen team capability through training: Train coworkers on proper use of measurement equipment, correct segregation procedures, and accurate documentation to maintain consistent quality practices across the team.
  • Support compliance with company quality standards: Consistently follow and reinforce the organization’s quality norms and standards, helping maintain regulatory compliance and internal process integrity.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement: Provide feedback on recurring defects or inspection trends to help production teams identify root causes and improve manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Be action-oriented: Approach inspections, quality checks, and production challenges with urgency and energy. Quickly address issues on the production line and proactively identify opportunities to improve quality processes.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams: Work closely with operators, engineers, and supervisors to solve problems, share information about defects, and ensure everyone is aligned on quality expectations.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively: Document non-conforming products accurately and explain quality findings in a way that operators, supervisors, and technical teams can easily understand and act on.
  • Maintain a strong customer focus: Recognize that every inspection directly affects the customer’s experience. Ensuring products meet technical specifications protects the company’s reputation and builds customer trust.
  • Make timely, high-quality decisions: When defects or measurement concerns arise, confidently decide whether products meet specifications, need rework, or must be segregated, helping production continue efficiently.
  • Apply measurement science and metrology principles: Use proper measurement techniques and understand sources of measurement uncertainty when using tools and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable inspection results.
  • Use quality process management tools: Apply quality methods such as inspections, process audits, capability studies, SPC, FMEA, and other quality systems to identify trends, prevent defects, and support continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and leadership in quality practices: Train others on measurement equipment and documentation processes, manage conflicts professionally when quality issues arise, and value diverse perspectives to strengthen team performance and problem-solving.
