Quality Inspector II

About the role

Vander-Bend is a U.S.-based manufacturer focused on precision infrastructure for AI. We are part of Vantedge Medical, a leading med-tech solutions provider. This role is within our newly formed division, responsible for ensuring quality in sheet metal and machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes inspections based on workload and job priorities.
• Inspects incoming parts from suppliers, including plating and custom-made components, using appropriate measuring tools and test equipment.
• Inspects products during production, verifying them against prints, work orders, and other relevant documents using measuring tools and test equipment.
• Advises operators on deviations found, explaining why they occurred and suggesting corrective actions.
• Performs “Lot” inspections, checking products against prints, work orders, and other relevant documentation.
• Creates and compiles quality records according to the Quality Management System or customer-specific requirements.
• Records inspection results in Shopfloor Software, linked to Visual Manufacturing system.
• Takes on additional responsibilities as directed by the Quality Manager SheetMetal.
• Aids the Director of Quality in maintaining ISO 13485 and 9001 certifications.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of inspection experience in a metal fabrication environment.
• Measuring tools: Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gage, Test Indicator, and calibration.
• Good understanding of mathematics.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and calibration.
• General inspection knowledge, methodology, metrology, plating, and painting.
• Computer literacy.
• Read, write, and communicate in English.
