About the role
Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking a hands-on individual to ensure all activities involving incoming shipments and warehoused manufactured products are efficient, safe, orderly, and accurately manufactured to customer specifications. The role involves inspecting cases and parts, mentoring, and training others.
Responsibilities
- Ensure company safety, quality, and performance procedures are met in a safe, clean, and organized setting.
- Offer recommendations to improve these standards.
- Data Collection and Charting.
- Measure parts to prints using precise measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM.
- Interact directly with Purchasing, Final Assembly, and all supporting areas regarding issues affecting customer and vendor specifications and shipments.
- Interact directly with Inside Sales concerning order specifications, changes, and errors.
- Interact directly with Engineering concerning design, product, and print issues.
- Load/Product testing.
- Work with Quality team members on case line ups, audits, and inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of inventory storage locations.
- Perform various material handling duties, to include driving fork truck, shipping truck, hand truck, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of physical plant, i.e., keep aisles, docks, etc. swept free of debris and uncluttered.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- ASQ Certification(s) beneficial, Electronics and Mechanical systems a plus.
- 6 Months related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excel, Word, and Power point computer applications a plus.
- Use of measurement equipment a must. (Ex. Calipers, Protractors, Micrometers etc).
- AS400 a plus.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, Saturdays, and Sundays with little or no notice.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Experience in auditing processes and products a must.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Customer Orders, product blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers or employees of organization.
