Job Summary

About the role

Entry-level Quality Inspector training for performing basic in-process and final inspections under supervision while developing knowledge of AAR, FRA, customer, and company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Train to Perform assigned in-process inspections.
• Train to Perform assigned final inspections.
• Train to Verify work completed meets work order requirements.
• Train to Verify required repair procedures were followed.
• Train to Inspect repaired railcars for obvious defects and non-conformances.
• Train to Complete inspection documentation accurately and legibly.
• Train to Verify required forms are complete before railcar release.
• Quality Documentation
• Train to Complete inspection reports.
• Train to Record defects and discrepancies.
• Train to Maintain inspection records.
• Train to Document non-conforming conditions.
• Compliance Support
• Train to Understand basic AAR and FRA requirements applicable to assigned work.
• Train to Follow company Quality Management System procedures.
• Train to Support corrective action investigations when requested.
• Facility Support
• Aid with facility audits.
• Participate in quality meetings.
• Support Quality Manager with data collection.

Requirements

• High School degree; experience in railcar repair, welding ability to interpret drawings, procedure manuals, and have proven mechanical aptitude.
• Computer proficiency, strong attention to details, organizational, time management, verbal and written communication, and ability to multitask skills are essential.
