About the role

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Inspector ensures raw materials, in-process components, and finished products meet specified standards and customer requirements. This role uses a variety of inspection tools and techniques to identify defects, document results, and support continuous quality improvement in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with performing inspections, validations, and/or verifications of assigned items to ensure compliance and documentation of nonconforming material.
  • Perform inspections of simple GD&T hardware using common inspection tools such as micrometers, bore gages, depth gauges, dial indicators, drop indicators, and height gauges.
  • Apply basic GD&T concepts including Straightness, Flatness, Circularity, Cylindricity, Perpendicularity, and Parallelism as needed.
  • Perform higher-level inspections under supervision when required.
  • Trim, sand, and drill parts using shop equipment.
  • Perform daily/weekly operator maintenance on equipment and tools.
  • Accurately execute Company Process Control (PC) instructions and provide feedback for revisions.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Support organization goals by improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Train others by sharing knowledge and expertise with the team.
  • Complete job assignments as directed by Quality or Manufacturing Manager.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and participate in audits as required.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Comply with all company rules, including safety policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Use personal protective equipment as defined by company standards.
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and injuries immediately to management.
  • Actively participate in 6S and lean activities.
  • Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance and follow company instructions.
  • Ensure continuity among shifts by documenting actions, irregularities, and needs.
  • Store and maintain tools, equipment, and gauges per company standards.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, including daily cleaning, sweeping, and waste disposal.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum 1-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of following directions and taking responsibility for production efficiency and quality.
  • Demonstrate customer focus by understanding and responding to internal and external customer needs.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and communicate openly and honestly.
  • Proactively solve problems and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in environments with noise, heat, or dust.
  • Regularly required to move, sit, and bend throughout the day.

Schedule

2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM with shift differential. Training provided on 1st shift.
