Quality Inspector I - 1st Shift

About the role

The Quality Inspector I plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality meets customer specifications. They inspect parts, run reports, and collaborate with production teams to achieve "on time" delivery goals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct dimensional inspections and apply correct customer specifications or exceptions based on sales orders.
• Read and interpret part prints and tolerances, understanding the hierarchy of governing documents.
• Utilize a variety of measuring and data recording equipment, including micrometers, profilometers, and metallographic cameras.
• Prepare and submit reports, calculate and record statistical data to reflect the quality status of products.
• Work closely with production teams to address any issues and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Requirements

• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality-related discipline.
• Proficient knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Ability to operate and calibrate various mechanical, electronic, optical, and non-destructive test instruments.

Qualifications

• Must have export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology.
• Eligibility criteria include being a U.S. citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, Asylee, or Refugee, among others.
• Must be able to obtain an export license if required.

Schedule

This role is based at Materion's facility in Tucson, AZ and operates on a first shift schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm. The schedule may be adjusted for training purposes.
