Quality Inspector I (10pm-6:30am Sunday-Thursday)

About the Role

A Quality Inspector ensures all dietary supplement products comply with MeriCal’s specifications and cGMPs. You will conduct objective and subjective measurements, identify non-conformances, and document corrective actions to maintain high-quality output. Responsibilities include random sampling and testing across receiving, in-process manufacturing, and finished packaged products.

Responsibilities

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (21 CFR Part 111, 117 & 211).
• Conduct sampling and testing against established methods, ensuring compliance with dimensional and functional specifications.
• Maintain records of testing and document defective product quantities per batch.
• Collect samples for Analytical, Microbial, Customer, and Retain testing; document within appropriate quality records (batch records, specifications, Unipoint, etc.).
• Enter quality data or release information in the ERP system under guidance.
• Perform in-process testing (e.g., allergen, ATP, Water Activity, Brix, Hardness, Thickness, Friability) under supervision.
• Verify ID tagging and organization of staged bulk and finished goods on the production floor.
• Ensure monitoring equipment (scales, metal detectors, torque meters) functions correctly per SOPs.
• Conduct bulk and final product Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) inspections per SOPs.
• Under guidance, make disposition decisions as needed.
• Review cleaning logs and provide verification signatures to release lines.
• Communicate unusual occurrences or issues affecting raw materials, production, or packaging to management.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company safety policies.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Quality Inspection Department software.
• Attention to detail and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Knowledge of proper sampling techniques or quality standards/testing methodologies is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) preferred.
• Ability to lift a maximum of 25-30 lbs. when needed.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $18.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and education.

Schedule

10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Sunday–Thursday.
