Quality Inspector, (CWI)
About the role
The Quality Inspector will report directly to the site Quality Manager, with indirect oversight from the Sr. Quality Manager, and will be charged with the vital task of conducting and documenting inspections that adhere to the approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Responsibilities
- Familiarity with a broad range of general construction processes and nomenclature including testing laboratory protocols and procedures, soils and concrete testing, asphalt paving, structural steel, mechanical, welding and general construction observations.
- Methodical and detail-oriented to assist the project team in assuring that Project QC documentation is complete and procedures are followed to ensure issues are closed and project risk is mitigated.
- Conduct regularly scheduled QA/QC meetings, review logs of Deficiencies, Punch List, and other items required and maintain documentation and meeting minutes within job folder.
- Prepare reports on inspection activities.
- Scheduling of inspection activities in conjunction with various local, state, governmental agencies and 3rd party testing.
- Understand and be able to identify difference between Project Specifications and Standard Codes and when project specific requirements do not meet minimum codes, administer appropriate expectations of codes as necessary to protect MasTec Industrial interests.
- Consult with Director of Quality when encounter issues or concerns beyond level of expertise.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a QA/QC role.
- Education towards an engineering or technical degree may be substituted in lieu of required work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years required in a construction environment.
- Experience with B31.3, clean room procedures, and oxygen cleaning preferred.
- Training and practical knowledge of construction trades.
- Extreme proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and Power Point.
- Proven capabilities with Bluebeam Revu.
- PREFERRED: Experience with Smartsheet and InEight software.
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
- Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence and document quality related issues and activities.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the general public.
- Effectively communicate and develop positive working relationships with the owner, owner’s representative, and the Company’s site supervision, in order to facilitate the quality objectives.
- Work independently and productively, ensuring the resources assigned to the project are adequate and properly trained for the task.
- Be self-motivated and capable of taking initiative.
- Apply critical thinking skills to establish effective corrective actions for causal factors of quality incidents.
- Possess diplomatic skills for addressing Quality and Safety issues with both internal and external parties.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
