Mirion Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for our Meriden location. This role ensures product integrity and quality standards are met, contributing to the Meriden Standard of Excellence, while supporting and improving the Quality Management System (QMS).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Incoming Inspection process is completed on all required parts.
  • Monitor and improve quality on the production floor, including In-process Inspection on production lines or product cells.
  • Ensure Quality protocols and standards are met on the production floor.
  • Monitor and improve Supplier quality, including handling and supporting Supplier non-conforming products.
  • Complete the NCR (Supplier Nonconformance Report) process.
  • Conduct internal audits and create internal corrective actions, ensuring validation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with Production to ensure the Material Review Board (MRB) process is completed.
  • Support the calibration process for Meriden.
  • Improve work instructions for products in production.
  • Participate in improving QMS documentation and maintain documentation for the Quality Department.
  • Understand and implement customer expectations and requirements, ensuring all special customer requirements are met on their orders.
  • Handle customer complaints and their resolution.
  • Promote cross-functional teamwork, business efficiency, and superior customer service.
  • Ensure all employees go home safely at the end of their working day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality inspection job functions at a manufacturing site.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Ability to quickly identify possible quality issues in processes or products.
  • Self-discipline and ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve unprecedented problems.
  • Proficiency in Quality tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent data collection/analysis skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of APQP, control plans, and PFMEA.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and other quality management software.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Certificate in quality assurance is a plus.
