Quality Inspector - Assembly
Position Overview
Responsible for inspecting the interior/exterior finish of boat to specified standards and acceptance criteria. Also responsible for the inspection of all installed components on the boat for adherence to Form/Fit/Function standards.
Essential Functions
- Ensure that all products under purview are inspected in a timely and efficient manner that are consistent with the line’s run rate.
- Inspect interior/exterior finish of the boat to specified standards and acceptance criteria.
- Inspect all installed components for Form/Fit/Function adherence to standard.
- Verify the boat is built to compliance rules and regulations and hardcopy options specifications.
- Verify that the boat meets or exceeds the stated performance specifications.
- Ensure all equipment and components are installed and/or loaded in boat.
- Enter all findings and variables are entered into QC2 system.
- Work with Production on identifying improvement opportunities and helps assist in determining the solution.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Technical competence in multiple disciplines of boat building and safe operation of vessels
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the marine industry
- Proficiency in understanding prints and drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Works well with others and is a team player
- Flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business
- Physical requirements may vary and may include, but not limited to, lifting, standing, stooping, standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs
- Must always possess the desire to work safely as well as report all hazards to the supervisor or manager immediately
Working Conditions
- Must always possess the desire and ambition to work safely and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately
- Understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies
- Be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
- Be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, standing, etc., with or without reasonable accommodation
- Be able to understand all safety related documents and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.
Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $21.42 - 24.50, hourly.
- The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
- In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus or short-term incentive program.
- This position is also eligible for an award target as part of Brunswick’s long-term incentive program.
