About the role

This classification requires the inspection of all types of machined parts, aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and installations, development parts and assemblies, vendor manufactured parts, materials, all types of tooling, master gages, master models and development parts, etc., for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, and interchangeability. The role involves operating various types of magnetic and penetrant testing equipment and performing subsequent inspections. You will perform functional and operational checks of production, prototype, modified, and customer-returned aircraft major components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and installations. Additionally, you will investigate and determine dispositions on returned materials, detail parts, and assemblies for FAA repairs. The role also includes inspecting, calibrating, repairing, adjusting, and certifying all precision measuring instruments to required standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect machined parts, aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and installations for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, and interchangeability.
  • Operate magnetic and penetrant testing equipment and perform subsequent inspections.
  • Perform functional and operational checks of production, prototype, modified, and customer-returned aircraft components.
  • Investigate and determine dispositions on returned materials and parts for FAA repairs.
  • Inspect, calibrate, repair, adjust, and certify precision measuring instruments.
  • Set up and align optical instruments and perform periodic inspections on major tools and master gages; log information and maintain records.
  • Utilize computer systems for data input and retrieval related to inspections and configuration purposes.
  • Use laser trackers, portable CMM, CMM, Photogrammetry, and other applicable technologies.
  • Review documents to identify and resolve errors or missing information.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a high school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D. in the U.S.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience performing manufacturing or product inspections using blueprints and specifications.
  • Experience performing measurements with precision measurement tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or eligible immigration status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) and 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.
  • Ability to use operating software including SAP.
  • 2+ years in an Aerospace or similar inspection role.

Pay

$27 - $31 per hour, plus a $0.75 per hour shift premium.

Schedule

3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 11:30 PM – 6:30 AM.
