About the role
The Quality Inspector 2nd Shift position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. The role is located at Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division in El Paso, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Verify correct wiring, components, program controllers, and conduct electrical testing of switchboard products and components, per applicable test procedure and/or component literature.
- Document inspections made on applicable checklist.
- Use Hi-Pot, continuity test, and component-specific testing devices to perform electrical testing.
- Verify switches and circuit breakers function properly.
- Verify torqued connections using torque wrench, per inspection instructions.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical tests per safety and training requirements and procedures.
- (Hi-Pot) Examine and verify mating structures (all structures in a line-up) as necessary to ensure that job is complete and field installation is problem-free.
- Verify that any revisions released to the production floor regarding functionality and customer specifications are incorporated into the product, all documentation reflects the current revision, and previous revisions of documents are not used / discarded.
- Document and communicate non-conformances, which are critical quality records, and verify required rework to aid problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
- Communicate design errors to appropriate front end personnel for correction, obtain revisions, and verify required rework.
- Serve as informal trainer for production associates and provide assistance for complex tasks and product requirements that are not be precisely defined.
- Troubleshoot, update, develop test setups and new procedures when current procedures are inaccurate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing, production, or military experience OR a degree in a technical discipline.
Qualifications
- Computer literate.
- Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
Skills
Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or Electronics preferred.

This position is eligible for a variable incentive program.
Pay
The rate for this position is $19.76 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. Salary is based upon candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.
Schedule
The core hours are Monday through Friday from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am.
